Description

Sheltered in a secondary branch of the River Loire, the port of Cordemais has rubbed elbows with France's largest thermal power station – now spread over 100 hectares (247 acres) – since 1970.
By playing with perspective, Tatzu Nishi pits himself against the colossal size of the "iron castle" power plant by making an identical copy of a tower, only that this one is 15 metres tall. At the top sits a tiny cottage with a garden – straight out of the 1970s, like so many others in the surrounding area – where one can stay. With this work, Tatzu Nishi creates a truly visual shock, pushing us to develop our imagination – not unlike Jules Verne, whom he adores. His work forces us to ask the question, where does this house come from? And, are the plant's chimneys actually copies of this one?
