Rebuilt after the war and with a recent change in the layout, the square surrounds the central blue granite fountain.
The marble statue representing Nantes armed with a trident dominates the bronze representations of the the Loire and the four rivers running into it: Erdre, Sèvre, Cher and Loiret.
